Aakash is originally projected as $35 laptop and it will be sold to Indian government at $50. But to make Aakash available, the Government is giving subsidy to the students according to which the 50% of the total cost of the tablet will be subsidized by the Central Government and rest by the state government in order to give the tablets in various colleges and institutions.
