About Acharya Nagarjuna University

Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU) located in NH-5 between the cities of Vijayawada and Guntur in AP. The university has a n area of total 293 acres. It has two other University Postgraduate centres – one at Nuzvid (Krishna – AP) and Ongole (Prakasam – AP).

The Acharya Nagarjuna University has completed 30 years of its existence. The university was inaugurated by former President of India, Sri Fakruddin Ali Ahmed on September 11th, 1976. Since then the university achieved great growth with its determination and enthusiasm.

Started with only 10 post graduate courses in the university college, the Acharya Nagarjuna University offers 47 post-graduate courses at present. The university has got more than 450 affiliated colleges in Prakasam, Krishna and Guntur districts  of Andhra Pradesh currently.

The Acharya Nagarjuna University is achieved continues growth since its establishment. Two new Post Graduate courses started in Tourism & Travel Management and Hindi in 2011. The department of Physical Education started new courses - B.P. Ed. and M.P. Ed in the academic year.

ANU and NTR University jointly awarded by MBA in Health Administration, M.Sc. in Medical Technology and M. Ed in the department of Education. MBA programme in International Finance which is a five year integrated course is also started.

The university library has about 1,00,000 books and journals. The ANU has up to date computer labs to meet any IT needs.
