This is a comprehensive guide for irctc login, registration and booking. IRCTC stands for Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited. It is a government of India enterprise. The website www.irctc.co.in helps the users to book the railway tickets online. Users can also check the schedule of the train and availability of the seats. IRCTC takes a service charge of Rs.10 on Second class / Sleeper class tickets and Rs.20 per e-ticket of all other classes includes 1 AC, 2 AC, 3 AC, CC, 3 E and FC. The number of passengers booked on an e-ticket doesn’t matter for the service charge. The service charge is not refundable even if you cancel the ticket later.
Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation provides two kinds of booking options that is i-ticket and e-ticket. If you choose the i-ticket the ticket will be delivered to your address by courier. However this service is available on selected cities only. If you select the E-ticket, you can save the ticket on your computer then take printout or shows the soft copy of the ticket in your smartphones or laptops while travelling to the examiner. Don’t forget to keep your ID prove along with you in the journey if you have an E-ticket.
You can also book Tatkal tickets through the website before one day of the scheduled departure of the train. You should provide the ID proof details during the booking itself and must keep the same ID while travelling. However cancellation or modification not allowed on Tatkal tickets.
How to Register for IRCTC Login
For accessing the services of irctc.co.in, the user must register on the website. Registration process is simple and easy. But it requires the confirmation from your mobile and the email. This is started by railways to decrease the illegal use by the agents.
1. To start the registration, go to www irctc.co.in website. Click on the sign-up link just below the login link. It will lead to the individual registration form of the website. Make sure to use the original data because garbage/junk values in profile can lead to account deactivation.
2. Use a valid e-mail ID and accessible mobile as an activation mail will send to your registered email for confirmation and a mobile verification code will be sent to registered mobile number.
3. Take extra care while choosing the Security question and the Answer as it is the only option to recover your password when you forget it.
4. Just fill up your personal data and click submit. A message will pop up to say your email Id and mobile number will be confirmed. Click on OK. You will receive an email with confirmation link and an SMS with a code. Once you confirm both you can login and access IRCTC facilities.

This is all bullshit, this system as also gone under controlled of agents, you can log in but can’t do any booking before 8:05am, by that time most of the seats are gone.If you are one of the biggest entity in the world with largest employees with gigantic customer base. shouldn’t your system be designed accordingly. In this case it is no wonder why English ruled us. we Indians have a very poor foresight & selfish mind , Any station(Bus, Railway & Airport), road, bridge,drainage,farming,grain warehouse &etc. are either exceeds its maximum capacity or breakdown mid way of its expected life. Are you not going to get married & have kids, the kids are also going to be human being requiring the system, which we exploited /compromised to better our selfish life or more profit, when entrusted with the project/job. Road builder’s kid doesn’t get better bridge but CAR to relax while traveling on bridges which are choked / in bad condition. thereby polluting the environment with exhaust & burning imported fuel bought on dollars. In very thing you look around, it all says the same thing, you are screwing somebody else future while some one is just doing the same for yours. The whole country screws each other , so what we have is our population with screwed up daily public life & future.
Dear Nobin, I am 77 years old. Perhaps your grandfather or father may be able to tell you how , in the earlier days , that is before 2000, we used to buy train tickets. Everything was by human intervention and that meant manipulation andmisuse. Today, thanks to this IRCTC miracle , booking , cancellation , change, everything is easy. Yes. Avaracious , unscrupulous people will still misuse the system . This cannot be helped. Look at the various viruses that are developed by computer specialists but with crooked minds. These people will always disrupt a system and laugh at others’misery.

As such, I do not have any problem in booking with IRCTC but some times, it takes very long time for confirmation of booking & mean time it is log out ( automatically). 2ndly, the time taken for settlement of TDS is very long. The TDS (Unavailed tickets) filed should be settled in 3-4 weeks time. we are blockiing money un-necessarily for over 8 weeks.

hi! sir, this is srinadh from Hyderabad. i reservation from Tenali to Tirupati. i booked in tatkal for four tickets on 22nd September 2012 in irctc site. but my tickets are not booked but my amount has been credited to irctc. from bank account union bank of india. i was got transaction id is 0565715833 and status is settlement requested and booking status is not booked showing, my journey date is 23rd September. if my tickets are status is changed as a confirmed by on 22nd September evening. my four ticket names are:

my session of submitting was expired and i tried but it show to use valied user id what it means
i have complete registration sign up process in yesterday night .till now i not got user id & password.so request to you plez sent password &id thank you
