Yesterday was a shocking day for the viewers of Saath Nibhaana Saathiya. Their favorite bahu Jiaa Manek aka Gopi bahu has been replaced by an unknown girl named Devoleena Bhattacharjee. While the viewers were wondering what the hell happened overnight, let me tell you the whole drama was started couple of weeks ago when Jiaa Manek decided to participate in the dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhla Jaa on Colors TV.
What is the Whole Drama?
Some time ago, Jiaa signed up for the reality dancing show Jhalak Dikhla jaa. But later asked to opt out the show by the Production house of Saath Nibhaana Saathiya which she didn’t agree. Then the matter taken to the Association of Motion Pictures & TV Programme Producers (AMPTPP) and Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA). Members of CINTAA had few talks with Giaa, and the final decision was that she must quit the dancing show.
She tried to convince the members of CINTAA to let her do the reality show along with the daily soap. But the fact was that Jiaa was under a contract with the producation house, according to that she can’t do any other show while doing SNS. Also the Saath Nibhaana Saathiya team was worried that JDJ would affect the image of a shy & soft spoken bahu in SNS. Moreover, Star Plus felt it wasn’t fair the actress became popular through their channel and now the rival channel using her image and brand.
The New Gopi Bahu is Here
Jiaa was not expecting that she will be replaced easily in Saath Nibhaana Saathiya as she is the face of the show. She wanted to stay but it was hard for her to quit the Jhalak also. Finally, the Star Plus decided to replace her for “unprofessional conduct and breach of contract”.
The new Gopi bahu joined in SNS is Devoleena Bhattacharjee, last seen in Preeto. In her first appearance she was far from convincing and trying hard to copy Jiaa’s mannerisms.
What About the Audience?
Jiaa now joined the league of ‘Replaced’ stars club with Priyal Gor, Rati Pandey, Amar Upadhyay, Smriti Irani, Mishal Raheja, Iqbal Khan, Eijaz Khan and Mona Wasu. But what about the reactions of the audiences? Can they easily connect with the new face of Gopi bahu?
Will Saath Nibhaana Saathiya face the fate of Zee’s Pavritra Rishta after Sushant Singh Rajput opt out and Sony’s Kuch Toh Log Kahenge after Mohnish Behl quit?

Jiaa Manek is a better fit & natural for the role. Hope she is brought back some how. Watching the new Gopi is like watching a Ghost!

i just want jia to be on saathiya.just cant tolerate some other girl in jia’s place hate the selfishness of the sns producers,it would be better if they bring jia back.and the difference of jia and new gopi ,yuck she cant take jia’s smile
