Vanya Mishra, Jalandhar girl crowned on Friday as the Pantaloons Femina Miss India World of 2012. The crowning was marked in a glittering grand finale of the beauty pageant of the 49th edition. The Miss India Earth Title was taken by 24 year old Prachi Mishra of pune, while Miss India International crown went to Chennai girl Maria Rao, aged 23.
The selection was made from 20 finalists and the crowning of the trio was done by last year’s winners Ankita Shorey and Kanistha Dhankhar. The event was hosted by Manish Paul and Ayushman Khurana.
While Prachi will represent India at the Miss Earth 2012 Pageant, the 19 year old Vanya will represent the country at the Miss World 2012 Pageant, with Rochele will be making her presence at the Miss International 2012 Pageant.
Though Femina had decided to send its winners to Miss Universe, then in 2010, it seems that they may not do the same at the Pageant, as they are not sending the beauties, for this year.
The ceremony was judged by film director Rohit Shetty, actor Sonam Kapoor, cricketer Harbhajan Singh, producer Ekta Kapoor, actor Sonali Bendre, MD of Bajaj Finservices Sanjiv Bajaj, TV actor Sakshi Tanwar and singer Sonu Nigam. Sonam Kapoor and Nargis Fakri added their Bollywood glamour to the ceremony.
The evening marked its beginning with actor Ali Zafar giving first dance with the former Indias Neha Hinge and Manasvi Mamgai. The ‘Madhubala’ performance had to give enthralling experience to the audience. Reigning Miss World Ivian Lunasol Sarcos Colimenares and the Chairperson of Miss world Organization, Julia Morley also graced the grand evening. Ivian Sarcos had made her presence in a stunning lehenga choli.
